This is a full-time, day/evening-shift position working Mon-Fri from 11am-7:30pm. Training will be from 7am-3:30pm for 2 weeks, then 6a-2:30pm for 1 week, then 10am-6:30pm for 3 months until going to your normal shift of 11am-7:30pm. There is a call requirement Fri/Sat/Sun once every 4-6 weeks, with a call response time of 1 hour. The role requires attention to detail and the ability to lift up to a 50-pound instrument tray. Responsibilities include cleaning and sterilizing surgical instruments after use. The technician may occasionally float to St. Mary’s in Centralia. The Sterile Processing Technician inspects, assembles and evaluates all surgical instruments and instrument sets to ensure proper sterilization, completeness of set, and to determine need for repair/replacement.
