Sterile Processing Technician
About The Position
The Sterile Processing Technician at SRMC-Sutter Roseville Med Center is responsible for competently performing standardized instrument processing and decontamination to prevent the spread of infection, illness, or disease. This role involves working independently, exercising sound judgment to support the department's functionality by disinfecting and distributing supplies, and performing equipment maintenance, testing, and setup as needed. The technician integrates education and technical competence to execute safe and precise sterilization procedures, while adhering to all local, state, and federal regulations, codes, policies, and procedures to ensure privacy and safety and deliver optimal patient care.
Requirements
- HS Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED)
- 1-year recent relevant experience
- General knowledge of surgical tools, procedures, views, and equipment
- Ability to interpret a variety of data and instructions, furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
- Basic understanding of human anatomy, physiology, pathology, and medical terminology
- Well-developed time management and organizational skills, including the ability to prioritize assignments and work within standardized operating procedures and scientific methods to achieve objectives and meet deadline
- General knowledge of computer applications, such as Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel and Outlook)
