We're seeking a Sterile Processing Trainee for Emory University Hospital, responsible for being a capable certified technician who cares about the quality of their work and ensuring the safety and care for all patients. This individual will learn the basics of decontamination, instrumentation, identification, sterilization concepts and preparation of Operating Room Case Carts. They will receive, unload, sort, inspect, wash and process instruments and equipment for decontamination both manually and by automated means. They will fill Operating Room case cart requisitions for scheduled next day cases, add-on cases and STAT cases with instruments, linen, stainless steel items, soft good supplies, etc. They will wrap and label stainless steel items. They will utilize the SPM Surgical Instrument Management tracking system to track instruments and case carts, provide information on instrument set assembly, etc. They will inventory and restock reprocessed sterile items in sterile storage areas. They will operate and perform daily maintenance of washer-disinfectors, cart washer and cart elevators. They will process all surgical case carts through the cart washer after each use, process case carts as specified and return all carts to designated areas. They will unload washer-disinfector racks of decontaminated instruments and stainless steel items and place in designated areas.
