Requirements

High School Diploma or GED (Sterile Processing Technician)
CRCST or CBSPD certification (Sterile Processing Technician & Leadership Roles)
Minimum 3 years of Sterile Processing experience (Sterile Processing Technician)
An Associate's Degree is required for Supervisor, Manager, Director and Consultant Roles
Minimum 6 years of Sterile Processing experience, including leadership responsibilities (Leadership Roles)
Strong understanding of regulatory compliance and quality standards (Leadership Roles)

Nice To Haves

CHL or CIS certification (preferred for Leadership Roles)

Responsibilities

Clean, inspect, assemble, and sterilize surgical instruments, equipment, and procedural trays in accordance with established standards
Operate and monitor sterilization equipment, including autoclaves and washer-disinfectors, to ensure proper processing
Adhere to AAMI, AORN, and OSHA standards to maintain infection prevention, safety, and regulatory compliance
Maintain accurate documentation, tracking records, and inventory to support efficient department operations
Collaborate effectively with surgical, clinical, and interdisciplinary teams to support patient care and workflow efficiency
Overseeing daily departmental operations and workflow coordination (Leadership roles)
Coaching, mentoring, and supporting team members to promote growth and accountability (Leadership roles)
Ensuring compliance with quality, safety, and regulatory standards (Leadership roles)
Driving continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational performance and service excellence (Leadership roles)
