About The Position

Join the Sterile Processing Team at BJC Healthcare's St. Peters Hospital. The hospital supports employee growth and development. The role functions as a team member in the operating room, supporting medical and nursing staff during pre-, intra-, and post-operative phases. This includes preparing equipment and supplies for the medical team, cleaning and sterilizing equipment and reusable supplies, assembling case carts and trays, and providing direct patient care as needed.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Less than 2 years of experience listed as the minimum requirement.
• Certification or licensure in the area of expertise.
• No supervisor experience required.

Nice To Haves

• 2–5 years of experience.

Responsibilities

• Assemble and process instrument sets, trays, supplies, and linen; prioritize trays and tasks according to the surgery schedule.
• Use and troubleshoot steam sterilizers.
• Follow proper techniques and procedures to ensure the integrity of the sterilization process.
• Disassemble, decontaminate, and process instrumentation according to manufacturer and industry standards.
• Transport patients with any necessary materials and documents for treatment or diagnosis.
