About The Position
The Sterile Processing Technician II (SPT) in Central Sterile Processing at Texas Health Plano is responsible for ensuring the proper assembly, containment, and sterilization of instruments and trays. This role involves using an instrument tracking system to scan and monitor the location of items throughout the sterilization process. Requirements
- High School Diploma or Equivalent Required
- CSPDT – Certified Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician upon hire required or
- CBSPD – Certification Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution upon hire required or
- CRCST – Certified Registered Central Service Technician upon hire required
- Detail oriented
Nice To Haves
- 1 year of sterile processing experience preferred
- Recent sterile processing experience a plus
Responsibilities
- Performs scanning of instrument trays for location and creation of count sheet/label
- Demonstrates proper assembly technique for instrument trays
- Demonstrates wrapping/containing of instruments/tray
- Performs scanning of instrument trays to track location using the instrument tracking system
- Demonstrates the proper loading technique for sterilization method
- Scans prepared items into correct sterilizer load
