About The Position
As a Sterile Processing Technician for STERIS, you’ll work behind the scenes of healthcare facilities in a fast-paced environment, impacting patient safety without being patient facing. Working in the Sterile Processing Department, you will support surgical procedures by ensuring medical instruments are clean, sterile, organized, and available for the surgical team. This is an onsite role based in Metairie, LA, supporting afternoon shift, 2:00 pm to 10:30 pm Monday through Friday.
Requirements
- High School diploma or GED
- 0 - 1 years of transferable or previous Sterile Processing experience preferred
- CRCST or CBSPD certification (must obtain certification within 12 months of hire and maintain annually)
Responsibilities
- Reprocess surgical trays post-surgery; ensuring they are decontaminated, cleaned, inspected, sterilized, correctly assembled within a timely manner and ready for the next case
- Operate sterile processing washers, sterilizers, ultrasonic and კარადები
- Participate in regular on-site training
