Sterile Processing Technician I
About The Position
STERIS is seeking a Sterile Processing Technician to reprocess surgical trays after surgery and help ensure instruments are safe and ready for the next case. The role works behind the scenes in healthcare facilities in a fast-paced environment and contributes to patient safety without being patient-facing. Technicians receive regular on-site training on industry best practices. This is a full-time opportunity. The stated pay range is $20.33–$26.31, and the position is eligible for bonus participation. Pay may vary based on factors including local labor market costs, relevant experience, education, professional certifications, and foreign-language fluency. The position is open until filled.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- Either one year of sterile processing experience with CRCST or CBSPD certification, or two years of sterile processing experience.
- CRCST or CBSPD certification, or willingness to complete certification within 12 months of hire.
Responsibilities
- Reprocess surgical trays after surgery, ensuring they are decontaminated, cleaned, inspected, sterilized, correctly assembled, and ready for the next case in a timely manner.
- Operate sterile processing washers, sterilizers, ultrasonic equipment, and drying cabinets.
- Participate in regular on-site training.
