This Certified Sterile Processing Technician position offers a reliable Monday–Friday evening shift from 11:00 a.m. to 7:30 p.m., with a rotating weekend on-call requirement. Job Summary: Inspects, assembles and evaluates all surgical instruments and instrument sets to ensure proper sterilization, completeness of set, and to determine need for repair/replacement.

Requirements

• High School diploma/GED or 10 years of work experience
• Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) - Healthcare Sterile Processing Association (HSPA) Or Certified Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician (CSPDT) - The Certification Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution (CBSPD)

Responsibilities

• Performs decontamination of soiled instruments, sterilization containers and equipment according to established protocols.
• Inspects instruments, equipment and containers to ensure cleanliness and proper functioning.
• Corrects instrument sets according to current standards and established count sheets and/or instrument tracking systems.
• Maintains proper levels of inventory to ensure availability for case carts.
• Works in a constant state of alertness and safe manner.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
