About The Position

Performs the basic activities and related professional services necessary for the care and handling of surgical instruments. This is a 12-month time-limited SPD intern position. The intern will receive on-the-job training and education in caring for and reprocessing reusable medical equipment and surgical instrumentation, and must successfully pass all hospital competencies for the department. CRCST certification through IAHCSMM is required by the end of 12 months.

Requirements

• High school diploma, GED, or higher education.
• Proficiency in spoken and written English.
• Manual dexterity and ability to assemble and disassemble complex instrumentation.
• CRCST certification through IAHCSMM is required by the end of 12 months.

Nice To Haves

• Completion of formal training in the field is preferred.
