About The Position

The Sterile Processing Tech performs sterilization and decontamination procedures to ensure quality instrumentation is provided for patient care. The role maintains supplies and equipment used in patient care, monitors inventory to meet patient needs, and performs miscellaneous duties as assigned. The position also performs and oversees clerical functions related to logbooks, inventory, and trays, maintains patient care equipment, and provides professional leadership and direction to staff.

Requirements

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Able to communicate fluently in English, both written and verbal.
• Certified central service technician, or acquire certification within two years; 15+ years of experience may be accepted in lieu of certification.
• Able to add, subtract, multiply, and divide.

• One year of experience as a sterile processing technician.

Responsibilities

• Perform decontamination procedures according to policy.
• Perform sterilization procedures according to departmental policy.
• Perform and oversee clerical functions related to the maintenance of logbooks, inventory, and trays.
• Maintain patient care equipment.
• Provide professional leadership and direction to staff.
• Maintain supplies and equipment for patient care and monitor inventory to ensure patient needs are met.
• Perform miscellaneous duties as assigned.
