About The Position

Shriners Children’s, the premier pediatric burn, orthopaedic, spinal cord injury, cleft lip and palate, and pediatric subspecialties medical center, has an opportunity for a per diem Sterile Processing Tech I to join our Surgical Services team. This position is per diem, day shift, non-exempt and benefits eligible. The pay range for this position is $19.56/hour - $29.35/hour. Compensation is based on years of experience and departmental equity.

Requirements

High School diploma or GED required
1 year experience - Required

Nice To Haves

2 years experience in Central Supply, Sterile Processing or Surgical Instrumentation Room - Preferred.
Previous exposure to orthopedic instruments desirable.

Responsibilities

Processing sterile supplies and instruments for use during operative procedures.
Selecting appropriate sterilization/disinfection technique for items.
Maintaining sterilization and environment quality controls.
Decontaminating, processing, and storing sterile instrumentation, hardware, and equipment for intraoperative use, using infection control procedures.
Working collaboratively with operating room personnel to assist with all perioperative phases including but not limited to case turnovers.
Maintaining and monitoring accurate records of maintenance on sterilization equipment, power equipment and surgical instrumentation.
Managing surgical inventory and performing other routine tasks, as assigned.
