About The Position

The Sterile Processing Tech performs sterilization and decontamination procedures to ensure quality instrumentation is provided for patient care. The role maintains supplies and equipment for patient care, monitors inventory to ensure patient needs are met, and performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Able to communicate fluently in English, both written and verbal.
• Certified central service technician, or able to acquire certification within two years; 15 or more years of experience is acceptable in lieu of certification.
• Able to add, subtract, multiply, and divide.

Nice To Haves

• One year of experience as a sterile processing technician.

Responsibilities

• Perform decontamination procedures according to policy.
• Perform sterilization procedures according to departmental policy.
• Perform and oversee clerical functions related to maintaining logbooks, inventory, and trays.
• Maintain patient care equipment.
• Provide professional leadership and direction to staff.
• Monitor inventory to ensure patient needs are met.
• Perform miscellaneous duties as assigned.
