About The Position

The Sterile Processing Tech follows the organization’s policies and sterile processing procedures to help prevent the spread of communicable diseases and ensure efficient instrument turnover while maintaining patient safety. The role also serves as a preceptor to new employees. The position performs cleaning, inspection, and sterilization of instruments according to established standards of practice. It maintains instrument sets and related supplies, documents sterilization processes, uses supplies efficiently, supports education and teamwork, and provides excellent customer service to VVMC patients. Requirements

Working knowledge of English, including reading, writing, and speaking.

Responsibilities

Perform cleaning, inspection, and sterilization techniques based on established standards of practice for S.P.C.
Maintain instrument sets to ensure instruments are clean, complete, functioning correctly, and sterile.
Maintain working knowledge of instrument sets, their configuration, and supplies.
Document sterilization processes in all log books.
Use supplies and liners carefully and efficiently to support quality care and cost efficiency.
Seek additional education opportunities within and outside the hospital setting.
Share knowledge by serving as a preceptor to new employees.
Participate in implementing plans to improve teamwork or resolve conflict.
Provide excellent customer service, work as a team, and advocate for VVMC patients.

Perform other duties as assigned and comply with HIPAA.
