About The Position

The Sterile Processing Tech works in the Sterile Processing department, which provides instrument care to hospital areas and BHMG offices. The department decontaminates, assembles, sterilizes, and maintains instruments, and collaborates with the OR, cath lab, and labor and delivery to meet their instrumentation needs.

This is a full-time, first-shift position in the Operating Room in Lexington, Kentucky. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 0700–1530, with rotating holidays and occasional weekends.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.

Nice To Haves

• IAHCSMM or CBSPD certification is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Decontaminate instruments, equipment, and reusable patient supplies.
• Prepare instrumentation and reusable patient supplies.
• Sterilize instruments and reusable patient supplies.
• Assist with maintaining departmental inventory.
• Report malfunctioning equipment and discrepancies to a supervisor or manager.
• Manage difficult or emotional customer situations.
• Respond promptly to customer needs and requests for service and assistance.
• Maintain a positive attitude and willingness to carry out assignments.
