About The Position

Mission Hospital is seeking a Certified Lead Sterile Processing Technician to help ensure surgical instruments and supplies are clean, reliable, and ready for patient care. The role combines sterile-processing work with team leadership, training, and support for a safe and efficient environment. Mission Hospital is part of Mission Health, an operating division of HCA Healthcare, and is located in Asheville, North Carolina.

Requirements

• High school graduate or GED.
• Three years of experience.
• Obtain either CSPDT (Certified Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician) or CRCST (Certified Registered Central Service Technician) certification within 30 days of employment start date.

Responsibilities

• Clean, inspect, assemble, and sterilize surgical instruments and trays, ensuring they function properly and are ready for patient care.
• Operate and maintain sterilization equipment, and keep detailed records of sterilization cycles, safety checks, and quality standards.
• Prepare surgical sets and case carts by reviewing daily schedules and gathering the instruments and supplies needed for each procedure.
• Manage inventory and organize supplies in operating room storage areas.
• Work closely with the surgical team to help procedures run smoothly and on time.
• Lead and train the Sterile Processing team, share updates about new equipment and processes, and model practices that support safety, quality, and teamwork.
