About The Position

Tallahassee Memorial Healthcare (TMH) is a private, nonprofit community-based healthcare system that provides care to a 22-county region in North Florida and South Georgia. TMH is the region's healthcare leader and top provider of advanced care with a 772-bed acute care hospital and the region's only Level II Trauma Center, Primary Stroke Center, Level III Neonatal Intensive Care, and Pediatric Intensive Care. The system also includes a psychiatric hospital, multiple specialty care centers, six residency programs, and more than 50 affiliated physician practices. This role is for a Certified Sterile Processing Technician responsible for cleaning, decontaminating, inspecting, assembling, and sterilizing reusable Operating Room (O.R.) medical devices. The technician will also train and serve as a preceptor for Sterile Processing Technicians I, when needed.

Requirements

High school diploma (or equivalent)
Six (6) months of sterile processing (or other relevant) experience or the successful completion of a qualified, nationally recognized, sterile processing course.
Certified Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician (CSPDT) credential from the Certification Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution, Inc. (CBSPD), or the Certified Registered Central Service Tech (CRCST) credential from the International Association of Healthcare Central Service Materiel Management (IAHCSMM), or Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) from the Healthcare Sterile Processing Association (HSPA).

Responsibilities

Cleaning, decontaminating, inspecting, assembling, and sterilizing reusable Operating Room (O.R.) medical devices.
Trains and serves as a preceptor for Sterile Processing Technicians I, when needed.
