About The Position

As a Central Processing Technician, you'll be the unsung hero keeping our operating rooms and hospital floors running smoothly! You will master the art of cleaning and sterilizing medical instruments, handle the assembly, processing, and distribution of medical instruments, and play a crucial role in keeping patients safe by maintaining the highest sterilization standards. You will also organize and store instruments efficiently, collaborate with operating room staff, hospital floors, and outside departments, and catch any issues before they become problems. Requirements

  • Consistently demonstrates all requirements of CPD Tech II
  • Certification as a Sterile Processing Technician through either the Certification Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution (CBSPD) or the Healthcare Sterile Processing Association (HSPA) when eligible.
  • Ability to walk moderate distances while pushing/maneuvering carts.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Basic computer skills
  • Effective customer service/people skills
  • Critical thinking skills that involve multitasking with interruptions.

Responsibilities

  • Cleaning and sterilizing medical instruments
