About The Position

Shady Grove Medical Center is seeking an experienced Sterile Processing Tech II for its Central and Sterile Processing Department. The role supports Adventist HealthCare’s mission to extend God’s care through physical, mental, and spiritual healing. Under direct supervision, the technician processes and stores procedure trays, instruments, equipment, and supplies according to prescribed procedures and aseptic techniques. The position also handles equipment and supply dispensing requests and assists with patient charge records and department inventory. This is a variable part-time position scheduled for 16 hours per week, typically 7:00 a.m.–3:30 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays. Weekend work is required, and holidays are required on a rotating basis according to the company holiday calendar. The position is not on-call and is eligible for a shift differential.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
Certification from an accredited organization.
Weekend work is required.
Holiday work is required on a rotating basis, following the company holiday calendar.

Nice To Haves

At least 1 year of experience in a Sterile Processing department preferred.
Active American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification preferred.

Responsibilities

Disassemble, clean, assemble, sterilize, and store procedure trays, instruments, equipment, and supplies according to prescribed procedures and aseptic techniques under direct supervision.
Complete requests to dispense equipment and supplies.
Assist in maintaining and processing patient charge records.
Assist in maintaining department inventory.
