Requirements

High School Diploma or GED.
Minimum of one year of Sterile Processing experience in an acute care hospital, ambulatory surgery center, or healthcare setting.
Demonstrated knowledge of decontamination, sterilization methods, surgical instrumentation, and infection prevention practices.
Ability to understand and follow detailed technical instructions related to surgical instrumentation and equipment.

Nice To Haves

Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) certification through HSPA, or ability to obtain within established timeframe.
Two or more years of Sterile Processing experience.
Experience with instrument tracking systems and surgical instrument inventory management.
Experience processing complex surgical instrument sets across multiple specialties.

Responsibilities

Decontaminate, inspect, assemble, and sterilize surgical instruments and medical equipment.
Identify damaged instruments and ensure proper functionality before distribution.
Assemble complex surgical instrument trays according to established standards.
Operate sterilization equipment and instrument tracking systems.
Maintain compliance with infection prevention, regulatory, and quality standards.
Manage inventory and coordinate the availability of critical equipment and supplies.
Support surgical and procedural teams by ensuring instruments are available accurately and on time.
Utilize technology including instrument tracking systems, inventory management systems, electronic medical records, handheld devices, Microsoft Office products, and email applications.
