About The Position

As a Central Processing Technician, you'll be the unsung hero keeping our operating rooms and hospital floors running smoothly! You will master the art of cleaning and sterilizing medical instruments, handle the assembly, processing, and distribution of medical instruments, and play a crucial role in keeping patients safe by maintaining the highest sterilization standards. You will also organize and store instruments efficiently, collaborate with operating room staff, hospital floors, and outside departments, and catch any issues before they become problems. This role requires you to embrace a fast-paced, ever-changing environment and help implement new initiatives that keep the department evolving. If you're patient, detail-oriented, love hands-on work, and can take direction, this is your chance to shine!

Requirements

High school graduate or GED
Excellent organizational skills
Good communication skills

Nice To Haves

Ability to work alone when sterilizing instruments in the Central Processing Department (CPD)
Ability to work with Surgical Technicians to ensure instruments are set properly for upcoming operations

Responsibilities

Retrieving and processing used instruments
Processing instruments with various chemicals to sterilize them for future use
Ensuring the organization has an adequate inventory of instruments as needed
Cleaning and sterilizing medical instruments
Handling the assembly, processing, and distribution of medical instruments
