Requirements

  • High School Graduate General Studies, upon hire or High School GED General Studies, upon hire
  • Certified and Registered Central Service Technician, within 12 - months or Certified Sterile Processing and Dist Supervisor, within 12 - months or Certified Sterile Processing and Dist Tech, within 12 - months or Cert Sterile Processing Dist Tech, within 12 - months

Responsibilities

  • Ensure surgical teams receive correct, fully functional, and sterile instrumentation.
  • Perform decontamination, prep and pack, sterilization, and dispatch with efficiency, expertise, and accuracy.
  • Continuously expand knowledge of standards and procedures for surgical instrumentation.
  • Provide quality customer service to all customers, including co-workers.
  • Perform duties in a safe manner, to prevent injury to self, patients, visitors or other hospital personnel.
  • Contribute to maintaining supplies and sterile items for use throughout the hospital.
  • Keeps department clean, neat, and well organized.
  • Performs cleaning and decontamination duties.
  • Performs wrapping and packaging duties.
  • Performs sterilization and all monitoring activities associated with it.
