About The Position
As a Central Processing Technician, you'll be the unsung hero keeping our operating rooms and hospital floors running smoothly! You will master the art of cleaning and sterilizing medical instruments, handle the assembly, processing, and distribution of medical instruments, and play a crucial role in keeping patients safe by maintaining the highest sterilization standards. You will also organize and store instruments efficiently, collaborate with operating room staff, hospital floors, and outside departments, and catch any issues before they become problems. This role requires someone who is patient, detail-oriented, loves hands-on work, and can take direction well. There are opportunities to advance your career to Tech II or III.
Requirements
- High school graduate or GED
- Retrieve and process used instruments
- Process instruments with various chemicals to sterilize them
- Ensure adequate inventory of instruments
- Excellent organizational skills
- Good communication skills
