About The Position

The Sterile Processing Tech Associate develops the skills necessary to perform entry-level core sterile processing functions. This is an onsite PRN position at UCHealth Longs Peak Hospital in Longmont, Colorado, in the LPH Sterile Process department. The schedule is listed as 0.00 hours per two-week pay period, with a flexible shift. Pay is $21.49–$27.94 per hour, dependent on relevant experience. The position requires critical thinking, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment and take appropriate action.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
Within one year of hire, certification as a CSPDT (Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician) from CBSPD or CRCST (Certified Registered Central Service Technician) from the Healthcare Sterile Processing Association (HSPA).
Critical thinking skills and decisive judgment.
Ability to work with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment and take appropriate action.

Responsibilities

Decontaminate and clean instruments and equipment according to their instructions for use (IFUs).
Disassemble items before selecting the appropriate cleaning method.
Visually inspect instruments and equipment before assembling and packaging them.
Sterilize instruments and equipment according to IFUs, checking external indicators, filters, and labels.
Document work using instrument tracking software or paper documentation, as required.
