About The Position

Performs a variety of tasks related to cleaning, decontamination, assembly, sterilization, and distribution of medical/surgical linens, equipment, instrumentation, and supplies for patient care. Requirements

• High school education required.
• Basic math skills required.
• Prior central sterile, operating room, or related medical-field experience is desired but not essential.

Nice To Haves

• Central service certification by an approved agency preferred.
• Knowledge of medical terminology preferred.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, fold, assemble, wrap, and label reusable linens for sterilization.
• Clean and decontaminate general instrumentation and equipment, identifying items requiring special handling and following appropriate procedures.
• Inspect, assemble, package, and label general instrument sets and medical-surgical supplies for sterilization.
• Inventory supply carts and par-level stock; check and replenish items accurately.
• Ensure patient equipment components are clean, functional, and correctly assembled.
• Transport supplies and equipment to and from user areas while following correct procedures and aseptic technique.
• Maintain a clean work area, replenish supplies as needed, and monitor equipment function.
• Meet performance expectations for customer service, teamwork, resource utilization, and staff and self-development.
• Perform other duties as assigned or directed to support smooth department or unit operations.
