About The Position

The Sterile Processing Supervisor at HonorHealth's Four Peaks location provides first-line supervision to staff in the Sterile Processing Department, ensuring sterile supplies and equipment are delivered to Patient Care areas as needed. This role involves leading the Central Sterile Processing Department (CSPD) team in the decontamination, preparation, sterilization, and timely delivery of instrument trays to surgical suites, while maintaining efficiency and compliance. The supervisor is responsible for developing and maintaining a Quality Assurance Plan, serving as a CSPD representative at facility and network meetings, and acting as a liaison between surgeons, vendors, CSPD, and OR teams and leaders. Key aspects of the role include effective communication, fostering collaborative relationships, and timely risk recognition and mitigation. Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 3 years Tech experience (CSPD or Surgical Technologist)
  • Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) - Certification Other or Certified Instrument Specialist (CIS) 1 Year

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelors Preferred
  • 2 years Supervisor/Coordinator experience Preferred
  • 5 years Tech experience (CSPD or Surgical Technologist) Preferred
  • Advanced Leadership Training Certification - Certification Other Certified Health Leadership or equivalent Preferred

Responsibilities

  • Supervises personnel assigned to the section.
  • Plans, establishes, and revises work assignments and schedules.
  • Interviews, selects, and hires personnel.
  • Completes changes in classification, salary action, promotion, demotion, transfer, and termination.
  • Administers performance evaluation in collaboration with the Manager.
  • Administers staff disciplinary process through termination.
  • Verifies staff clinical competency and certifications.
  • Reviews and approves time and attendance records.
  • Engages team to perform at the highest standard.
  • Monitors processes, ensures regulatory compliance and adherence to best practice/standards (AAMI, IAHCSMM), along with tray accuracy, timeliness and delivery to surgical areas.
  • Actively participates, leads and/or collaborates around Quality, Infection Prevention and Improvement efforts focused on patient safety and efficiencies.
  • Creates infrastructure supportive of adherence to infection prevention guidelines.
  • Participates actively in development of and adherence to annual departmental budget.
  • Provides input on departmental capital equipment considerations and prioritization.
  • Serves as a CSPD resource for the facility and network.
  • Performs other duties as assigned
