About The Position

Under supervision of the Sterile Processing Manager and following established policies, procedures, and guidelines, assumes the responsibility for leadership of the decontamination, instrument assembly and wrapping, processing, and case cart area. Responsible for performing job duties in accordance with the mission, vision, and values of Tampa General Hospital. Responsible for monitoring staff performance and productivity requirements. Monitors the daily flow and needs from the Surgical Service department, hospital floor units, and TMG clinics. Interacts directly with the operating room staff, floor staff, medical staff, and vendors. Responsible for collecting and analyzing departmental data. Makes suggestions and implements process improvement strategies. Incorporates the use of Culture Care at all times and leads staff in the use of Culture Care behavioral expectations.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or G.E.D required.
  • Four (4) years sterile processing and/or operating room experience required.
  • CRCST (Certified Registered Central Service Technician) certification required.
  • CIS (Certified Instrument Specialist) certification required.
  • Ability to direct, lead & discipline staff.
  • Proficient with MS Office products & MMIS to run reports, analyze data, & present information in clear format.
  • Demonstrates higher level of knowledge of inventory, stocking, dispensing, & processing of medical supplies.

Nice To Haves

  • Two (2) years of sterile processing supervisory experience or equivalent experience preferred.
