About The Position

Join the Sterile Processing team at UF Health Jacksonville and play a critical role in supporting safe, high-quality patient care within a nationally recognized Level I Trauma Center.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED
• Central Service Certification (CBSPD or CRCST)
• 3-5 years of Sterile Processing or equivalent OR experience
• Good verbal and written communication
• Strong organization skills
• Strong knowledge of surgical instruments

Nice To Haves

• Associate's degree

Responsibilities

• Maintain instrument tracking system by adding, changing and deleting data to ensure the system information is continuously accurate.
• Collect and report departmental metrics related to missing instruments, broken instrument, and instrument/scopes out for repair.
• Maintain par levels for backup instrument and reorders tray implant inventory.
• Track instrument utilization and turn over to identify the need for additional purchases.
• Submit all purchase requisitions related to instruments, and repairs.
• Develop and maintain relationships with internal and external entities, customers, vendors and other parties for the purpose of instrument purchasing coordination and implementation of use.
• Coordinate weekly tray and instrument maintenance with contracted services.
• Support patient care by monitoring the quality of sterile supplies and the decontamination of equipment, per departmental policies/procedures and in accordance with hospital policies and governmental regulatory agencies.
