About The Position

The Sterile Processing Coordinator performs instrument cleaning, processing, and sterilization according to manufacturer recommendations and maintains logs that meet regulatory and sterilization standards. The role works from 3:00 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. and is based at Surgical Center of Greensboro.

Requirements

• Certification in sterile processing.
• Two years of experience as a sterile processing technician.
• Ability to work within a team.
• Physical stamina.
• Good communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Clean and assemble instrument trays for sterilization.
• Sort, wrap, package, and appropriately label instruments and supplies.
• Substitute for damaged or missing instruments.
• Sterilize supplies using an autoclave in accordance with manufacturer and facility standards.
• Check sterile items for expiration dates and rotate stock.
• Report lost instruments to a supervisor.
• Follow appropriate standards for cleaning and sterilizing contaminated items.
• Monitor autoclaves for proper temperature and working order, and report malfunctions to a supervisor and/or service and maintenance representatives.
