About The Position

The Sterile Processing Coordinator will coordinate activities and tasks in the sterile processing department, including specialized management of service line tasks. This role involves coordinating shift operations, including scheduling, assigned activities, and resources. The coordinator will serve as a technical or functional resource for technical staff and may perform similar duties. Responsibilities include assigning, monitoring, and reviewing the quality and progress of work, as well as monitoring and reporting compliance with policies and procedures. The role also oversees the maintenance of supplies and evaluates the orientation and training of assigned associates, potentially providing input in staff performance reviews. Additionally, the coordinator will contribute to quality assurance of work product by conducting regular audits.

Requirements

  • Central Service Tech specializing in Sterile Processing credentialed from the Healthcare Sterile Processing Association obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
  • Central Service Tech specializing in Sterile Processing credentialed from the Certification Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution (CBSPD) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
  • High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.

Nice To Haves

  • Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST).
  • Minimum of 2 years of sterile processing experience.

Responsibilities

  • Assign, monitor, and review quality and progress of work.

  • Contribute to quality assurance of work product by conducting regular audits.
