This position provides an introduction to Sterile Processing and may result in the opportunity to advance into Sterile Processing 101 training based on performance. Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Basic computer knowledge.
- Good interpersonal skills.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships and the ability to receive and give constructive feedback.
- Good verbal and written communication skills, being concise by phone and in person.
Nice To Haves
- One year of instrumentation experience in a hospital setting or Certificate of Completion in Hospital Central Service Technology from an accredited educational institution is optional, but not required.
Responsibilities
- decontamination of surgical instruments and equipment
- assisting with loading and unloading instruments and trays to and from the washer disinfector and cart washer respectively
- assists with case cart assembly
- transportation of sterilized items to the operating room for storage or patient use
- restocking sterile storage areas
- breaks down shipping and delivery boxes in the department
