We are seeking a hands-on Sterile Compounding Pharmacy Technician to join our team in Burbank, California. This position focuses on the safe, accurate, and compliant preparation of injectable medications and other sterile dosage forms. The Sterile Compounding Pharmacy Technician will support licensed pharmacists with day-to-day sterile lab operations while following USP <797>, applicable California Board of Pharmacy regulations, and company SOPs.

Requirements

  • Active and unrestricted California Pharmacy Technician License.
  • Minimum of one year of pharmacy technician experience involving sterile compounding.
  • Knowledge of aseptic technique and USP <797> requirements.
  • Ability to successfully complete required sterile-compounding training and competency evaluations.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment while following established SOPs.

Nice To Haves

  • Certified Pharmacy Technician certification.
  • Certified Compounded Sterile Preparation Technician certification.
  • Experience using pharmacy systems for labeling, tracking, and batch-record management.
  • Experience working in a high-volume sterile-compounding environment.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare sterile compounds, including injectables and ophthalmic preparations, in an ISO-classified cleanroom.
  • Accurately measure, mix, and prepare sterile medications using laminar airflow hoods, isolators, and other approved equipment.
  • Follow aseptic technique, hand-hygiene, garbing, cleaning, disinfecting, and sporicidal procedures.
  • Participate in required initial and ongoing sterile-compounding training and competency evaluations.
  • Support environmental monitoring and cleanroom-quality procedures.
  • Document all compounding activities and maintain complete and accurate batch records.
  • Label, package, and inspect finished sterile preparations for accuracy and compliance.
  • Manage sterile supplies and ingredients while ensuring proper storage and handling.
  • Collaborate with pharmacists and technicians to meet production and quality standards.
