About The Position
Learn It Systems is a national education organization dedicated to helping children succeed in school and life. We are seeking passionate individuals who value collaboration, integrity, and making a difference in students' lives. This role is for a tutor in New York City for the 26/27 school year, offering a chance to join a growing, interdisciplinary team focused on creating exceptional learning experiences for children in need. You will be part of an educational team, including fellow educators, a Program Aide, and an Area Manager, working with school districts to provide high-quality education services in reading, mathematics, and/or writing. The role involves assisting classroom teachers with students needing extra support in a small group or one-on-one setting. Programs are in-school, focusing on reading and math for grades K-8.
Requirements
- Associates degree
- Teaching assistant or experience working with students
- Fingerprinting by Department of Education required
- Completion of SAVE School and Child Abuse Workshop required (prior completion a plus, can be provided if not)
- Must be able to lift 30 pounds
- Ability to go up and down stairs within a school building
- Frequent standing and ability to raise arms above the head
- Hand dexterity for typing and entering data into a computer
- Presently eligible to work in the United States

Responsibilities
- Assist the classroom teacher with working with students that need additional support in the classroom.
- Deliver high-quality education services in reading, mathematics and/or writing to students in a small group/ one on one learning environment.
- Provide tutoring in reading and math for grade levels ranging from K to 8th.
- Assist with homework help.
- Utilize topics including UBTECH UGOT, SPHERO BOLT, ROBOTICS, 3D IMAGING, and SCRATCH CODING.
