About The Position

Provide students with appropriate learning activities and experiences designed to help them fulfill their potential for intellectual, emotional, physical, and social growth. Enable students to develop competencies and skills to function successfully in society.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required
• Basic knowledge of STEM concepts (science, technology, engineering, and math) appropriate for elementary students
• Ability to follow teacher lesson plans and provide instructional support
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times

Nice To Haves

• Associate’s degree or higher preferred, especially in education, science, technology, engineering, or mathematics
• Valid paraprofessional certification (or ability to obtain)
• Meet federal/state requirements for paraprofessionals (e.g., completion of 48 college hours or passing a paraprofessional assessment, if applicable)
• Strong organizational skills to manage materials, tools, and STEM resources
• Knowledge of basic technology tools (Chromebooks, tablets, educational apps, coding platforms, etc.)
• Strong classroom management support skills
• Effective communication skills with students, staff, and parents
• Ability to motivate and engage students in problem-solving and critical thinking
• Flexibility and willingness to support multiple grade levels and instructional settings

Responsibilities

• Support hands-on, inquiry-based learning activities and experiments
• Manage materials, tools, and STEM resources
• Assist with small group instruction and reinforce teacher-led lessons
• Follow teacher lesson plans and provide instructional support
• Provide classroom management support
• Communicate effectively with students, staff, and parents
• Motivate and engage students in problem-solving and critical thinking
• Support multiple grade levels and instructional settings
• Maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times
