About The Position

The STEM Instructional Lab Aide will support teachers in preparing instructional materials, administering tests, maintaining the classroom, and assisting students. This role involves working with children individually or in small groups, supervising them throughout the school day, and participating in staff development and faculty meetings. The position requires maintaining confidentiality and performing other duties as assigned by the supervisor. Attendance is an essential job function.

Requirements

  • At least 2 years of study at an institution of higher education
  • Obtained an associate’s degree or higher
  • Meet a rigorous standard of quality test
  • Ability to work well with children and in a 1-on-1 setting
  • Ability to communicate effectively
  • Experience working with children

Responsibilities

  • Assist teacher in preparing instructional materials and classroom displays.
  • Assist with administration and scoring of objective testing instruments or work assignments.
  • Help maintain neat and orderly classroom.
  • Help with inventory, care, and maintenance of equipment.
  • Help teacher keep administrative records and prepare required reports.
  • Provide orientation and assistance to substitute teachers.
  • Conduct instructional exercises assigned by the teacher; work with individual students or small groups or whole class.
  • Help supervise students throughout school day, inside and outside classroom. This includes lunchroom, bus, and playground duty.
  • Keep teacher informed of special needs or problems of individual students.
  • Participate in staff development training programs to improve job performance.
  • Participate in faculty meeting and special events as assigned.
  • Maintain confidentiality.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by immediate supervisor.
  • Attendance is an essential job function.
