About The Position
We are seeking a passionate and engaging STEM After School Instructor to lead programs in Robotics with Ozobot, Makers Club, and Aviation Drones for students in grades K-5. The instructor will be responsible for delivering high-quality instruction and fostering a love for STEM subjects. This position involves teaching two classes per day, two days a week, from October 6th to May 7th.
Requirements
- Experience working with K-5th grade students.
- Knowledge of STEM subjects, particularly robotics, maker activities, and drones.
- Ability to manage a classroom and engage young learners.
- Reliable transportation to the Gardena, CA site.
- Availability on Tuesdays and Fridays from 1:45 PM to 3:45 PM.
Nice To Haves
- Experience with Ozobot robots.
- Familiarity with drone operation and safety.
- Background in curriculum development for after-school programs.
- Experience in a makerspace environment.
Responsibilities
- Instruct students in Robotics with Ozobot, Makers Club, and Aviation Drones.
- Manage classroom behavior and ensure a safe learning environment.
- Engage students in hands-on STEM activities.
- Communicate with program coordinators regarding student progress and any issues.
- Prepare and organize materials for each class session.
