About The Position
The Sisterson Symposium Series: STEEL Summer Leadership Program is an immersive event for students completing their sophomore year as an accounting major. This program, also known as Student Talent Engaging in Experiential Learning & Leadership (STEEL), is designed to provide participants with real-world experience to build skills, career confidence, and leadership abilities. It offers hands-on exposure to the public accounting profession through targeted skill-building sessions, real-world activities, and direct interaction with accountants and consultants. Participants will gain practical experience, industry insight, and professional confidence while emphasizing collaboration, team building, and networking with firm professionals and peers from various colleges and universities. The program helps students explore potential career paths, understand the day-to-day work in public accounting, and prepare for future internship experiences, potentially leading to an internship with Sisterson the following summer.
Requirements
- Must be a second-semester sophomore completing two full years of school at a four-year college or university by May after your sophomore year.
- Must currently hold at least a 3.2 overall GPA.
- Must have availability to attend the program for all three days (approximately 9:00 AM - 4:00 PM).
- Must have reliable transportation to and from the Pittsburgh office.
