About The Position

This role involves contributing to the assembly of steel structures for buildings or support structures. The fitter will use technical plans and drawings to assemble and adjust metal sections using spot welding. They will operate various high-performance machines such as torches, grinders, and drills to shape metal. Responsibilities also include noting and reporting defects in materials, tools, and equipment, following quality procedures and manufacturing standards, operating overhead cranes, and observing safety rules. Any other related tasks may also be assigned.

Requirements

• Diploma of Vocational Studies (DVS) in Welding and Fitting AND/OR Minimum of 2000 hours of working experience in the field (work or school
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings and specifications
• Knowledge in Imperial and Metric measures
• Good knowledge of written and spoken French
• Good knowledge in using welding machines, grinders, burning torches, cutting torches, cranes
• Autonomy, manual dexterity, adaptability, initiative, organizational skills and ability to work as part of a team

Nice To Haves

• Experience as a steel structure fitter
• Written and spoken languages: French and English
• Knowledge of spoken English

Responsibilities
