About The Position

We are seeking an experienced Shipping Lead to oversee steel loadout operations in a fast-paced structural steel fabrication environment. This role is responsible for ensuring safe, accurate, and on-time shipments while leading and supporting the shipping team.

Requirements

• Minimum 5 years of experience in structural steel material handling or shipping operations
• At least 2 years of leadership or supervisory experience
• Experience operating overhead cranes, telehandlers, vertical mast lifts, and forklifts
• Strong organizational, leadership, and communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
• Strong commitment to workplace safety and quality standards

Nice To Haves

• Familiarity with Tekla EPMgo or similar production/shipping software

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily steel loadout operations and shipping activities
• Ensure materials are safely loaded, secured, and shipment-ready
• Verify load accuracy, material markings, and shipping documentation
• Coordinate with logistics, production, and shop teams to meet delivery schedules
• Maintain accurate load tickets and shipping records using production/shipping software
• Train and support new team members
• Lead daily team safety meetings and enforce safety standards
• Identify opportunities for operational improvements
• Provide hands-on leadership in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
