About The Position

As we continue to grow, we are seeking a responsible and detail-oriented professional to join our team as Roll Former in our Lawrence, KS location. The Roll Former is responsible for producing the highest quality garage door and garage door components available. This includes ensuring safe work and quality assurance practices. The position involves overseeing the machinery and process of roll forming.

Requirements

  • 1-3 years of experience in a manufacturing, industrial, or similar environment, preferably in steel manufacturing.
  • Ability to read blueprints and layouts to ensure proper production of materials while preventing damage.
  • Proficient with various computer applications, scanners, and tablets.
  • Ability to accurately utilize various quality measurement tools to include gages, tape measurements, and etc to ensure product remains in specification and of high quality.
  • Critical thinking and ability to thoroughly document observances and changes.
  • Mathematical and measuring skills required for quality checks and basic equipment adjustments -- equivalent to that of a carpenter or mechanic.

Responsibilities

  • Uses the highest level of safety in all activities performed.
  • Operates, monitors, and troubleshoots the roll forming equipment, to produce a high quality damage free product.
  • Responsible for performing all quality checks and the completion of all necessary forms, i.e. tags, quality, scrap, rejections.
  • Sets ups, operates, and adjusts all equipment needed to manufacture including roll former and embosser.
  • Generates, interprets, and executes all run sheets and reporting.
  • Using run sheets and other reports is able to change widths, gauges and cutoff dies as needed to produce the correct product accurately.
  • Must keep roll former operating o maximum efficiency and keep flow of material ahead of production lines.
  • Quickly spot any quality concern and/or maintenance issue with the ability to articulate the concerns to the appropriate stakeholders for the most effective solution.
  • Responsible for cleanliness of work area and general housekeeping.
  • Assist in training as it pertains to roll forming.
  • Assumes other duties as assigned by leadership.
