About The Position

DeSimone is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Procurement Scheduler / Administrator to support the procurement, scheduling, and delivery coordination of structural steel materials for commercial construction projects. This role serves as a critical liaison between project managers, fabrication shops, vendors, trucking companies, and field teams to ensure materials are delivered accurately, on time, and in alignment with project schedules.

Requirements

2–5 years of administrative, scheduling, procurement, or project coordination experience within the AEC, structural steel, fabrication, or construction industry.
Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering, Construction, or related fields.
Maintain and develop computer literacy skills; including specialist software, Microsoft Office and Teams.
Up to 50% travel Minimum (Required)

Familiarity with trucking coordination and freight scheduling.
Ability to build strong relationships with vendors, suppliers, and project teams.

Responsibilities

Coordinate procurement schedules to ensure materials are ordered, fabricated, and delivered according to project timelines.
Schedule and monitor truck deliveries to project sites while maintaining clear communication with vendors, carriers, fabrication shops, and field personnel.
Verify purchase orders, shipping documentation, delivery tickets, and material quantities for accuracy.
Track procurement milestones and delivery schedules, proactively identifying and communicating potential delays.
Maintain accurate procurement logs, delivery schedules, and project documentation.
Collaborate closely with Project Managers, Estimators, Operations, and Fabrication teams to support project execution.
Coordinate with suppliers to confirm production schedules, shipping dates, and material availability.
Ensure all required documentation is received prior to delivery, including packing slips, bills of lading, and certifications when applicable.
Assist in resolving delivery discrepancies, scheduling conflicts, or material shortages in a timely manner.
Support inventory tracking and material allocation as needed.
Monitor project deadlines and help ensure procurement activities align with construction milestones.
Provide administrative support including data entry, reporting, document management, and maintaining procurement records.
Deliver exceptional customer service by helping create a seamless delivery experience for internal teams and clients.
