About The Position

Kirby Building Systems is seeking to assemble a hiring pool of qualified applicants for the position of Steel Detailer/BIM Modeler at our Portland, TN facility. As Steel Detailer / BIM Modeler, you will be responsible for detailing all components of a custom metal building system including the primary steel framing, secondary steel framing, wall panel systems, roof panel systems, and all associated flashings and trims to ensure all components fit together correctly as part of a complete design solution. Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.

Requirements

High School Diploma or GED
Basic math, geometry, and trigonometry skills
2 years metal building detailing experience
Experience operating CAD software.
Experience with Tekla Structures or similar 3D modeling software.
Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the US (NUCOR will not sponsor the need for a visa now or in the future)

Nice To Haves

Minimum Associates degree or two-year vocational school certification with a focus in Architecture, Drafting, Construction Management, or Engineering Technology.

Responsibilities

Creating Electronic 3D models of custom-building systems using 3D drafting software
Shop drawings and reports for in-house fabrication and production teams
Erection drawings and bill of materials for field construction use
Initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.
