About The Position

Wisconsin Electric Power, a subsidiary of WEC Energy Group, is seeking a Steam Turbine Engineer. This position can be located at our Milwaukee, Wisconsin locations or any of our southeast Wisconsin power generation or renewable locations. This position currently offers flexibility for a hybrid work arrangement (remote/on-site) with time spent in the office. This role will be required to travel to our power generation sites across the Southeast Wisconsin with occasional travel to Northern Wisconsin and Upper Michigan. This position is part of a job family (Associate Engineer, Engineer, Senior Engineer, and Principal Engineer) where experience will be the determining factor. If you are currently in this Job Family, it will be a lateral move. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering
  • Valid driver’s license and meet the company’s requirements for driving

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • 5+ years of prior power generation experience, including specialized knowledge of steam turbine technology, rotating equipment and management of related unit operation and maintenance activities
  • Experience with steam turbine OEM

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support within power generation fleet territory with a focus on steam turbines and rotating equipment.
  • Responsible for field testing, engineering analysis, and specialized programs that deal with plant equipment performance, availability, and operating/maintenance costs.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve operational and maintenance problems by providing engineering support by formulating and implementing technical solutions.
  • Compile and analyze power plant operating data to determine ways to improve plant efficiencies through operating and equipment changes and upgrades.
  • Oversee contractors working on projects.
  • Develop project budgets, schedules, and report on financial performance.
  • Lead scope development to analyze and recommend design options, recommend systems, components, and materials along with related cost estimates.
