About The Position

Applicants seeking short-term or part-time work with the University of Hawai'i may apply for Casual Hire positions, which include administrative, professional, and technical (APT) or instructional-type positions. Because of the temporary nature of these appointments, Casual Hire employees are not eligible for most benefits as provided to regular Board of Regents (BOR) and Civil Service employees. Casual Hire appointments may last for up to 89 days for full-time employees, and up to 1 calendar year for part-time employees.

Requirements

• Possession of a baccalaureate degree or any equivalent combination of education and/or professional work experience which provides the required education, knowledge, skills and abilities as indicated.
• Three (3) years progressive experience in a 4-year collegiate sports information office.
• Proficient knowledge of collegiate sports rules, protocols, game operations and statistics.
• Proficient using NCAA Live Stats by Genius, Statcrew, and other statistics software programs.
• Flexible schedule with ability to work nights, weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Staffing, management and supervision of game day scorers table crew.
• Works closely with sports information director to: a. Recruit, evaluate and establish game day scorers table for soccer, volleyball, basketball, softball and baseball. b. Create and maintain game day protocols. c. Uphold and review NCAA Division II sports statistics and practices.
• Record and input in-game statistics using NCAA Live Stats by Genius, Statcrew and other various methods.
• Updates and maintains statistics for athletics website.
• Train game day scorers table personnel for in-game statistics and protocols.
• Communications with conference office and other institutions’ sports information offices.
