Statistical Analyst (Maternal Mortality Research Assistant) - Central District
About The Position
The Statistical Analyst (Maternal Mortality Research Assistant) collects and analyzes data using established research methods, procedures, statistical formulas, and techniques. The position verifies data accuracy, identifies trends, develops projections, and prepares reports as directed or according to established procedures. It may lead other support staff on projects. Analyses address a limited variety of applications, and the role involves frequent contact with staff, information sources, and data users to collect accurate data and meet user needs. This is a restricted position funded solely by the Enhancing Reviews and Surveillance to Eliminate Maternal Mortality (ERASE MM) for a 38-month period ending June 30, 2029. Funding availability is reviewed annually, and continued employment depends on funding.
Requirements
- Knowledge of database management, data quality assurance techniques and procedures, and basic statistical formulas and techniques.
- Strong oral and written communication, interpersonal, problem-solving, statistical analysis, and database management skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Access, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher, and Word.
- Ability to collect, analyze, and enter data; perform data quality checks; report and reconcile discrepancies; prepare clear and accurate documentation and reports; conduct research; communicate effectively with diverse audiences; provide technical assistance; and conduct training.
- Ability to travel within the state or nationally for meetings or related events.
- Knowledge of or experience in public health theory, principles, and/or qualitative data methods.
Nice To Haves
- Experience using large public health or criminal justice data systems.
- Experience in research, data abstraction, or data entry.
