About The Position

The Department of Public Health (DPH), Spatial Analytics, Data, and Epidemiology (SADE), is recruiting for a Statistical Analyst Supervisor, who will play a pivotal role in shaping the department's research agenda and driving evidence-based decision-making. Epidemiology and Statistical Supervisors oversee a team of skilled statistical analysts and epidemiologists, providing mentorship and guidance in advanced statistical techniques, data interpretation, and the application of epidemiological principles.

Requirements

  • A completed bachelor's degree in Epidemiology, Statistics, Public/Healthcare Administration, Behavioral/Social Science, or other relevant field of study from an accredited college or university recognized by the United States Department of Education.
  • Two (2) years of full-time professional-level experience with primary responsibility for analyzing, interpreting, conducting research studies and making recommendations to management in a combination of the following areas: analysis and interpretation of epidemiological or demographic data or quantitative data; statistical analyses; organizational analysis; or project management.
  • One (1) year of lead or supervising work experience over a support services staff.
  • Qualifying degrees or coursework must be completed at a college or university accredited by any accrediting association recognized by the United States Department of Education.
  • Degrees or coursework completed outside the U.S. must be accompanied with an evaluation report from a reputable credential evaluation service showing equivalency to degrees or coursework completed at a college or university accredited by any accrediting association recognized by the United States Department of Education. (Must be attached if applicable.)

  • Deep proficiency in various statistical methodologies, geospatial analyses, epidemiological study designs, and analytical techniques to investigate and understand patterns, causes, and impacts of health-related events in populations.
  • Proficiency with project management skills in developing clear, measurable objectives, timelines, and resource allocation plans.

Responsibilities

  • Provide day-to-day supervision, guidance, and performance support to Statistical Analysts, ensuring high-quality analytical work and adherence to departmental standards.
  • Guide analysts in the development and maintenance of dashboards, data portals, and reporting tools used to inform leadership and program partners.
  • Foster a collaborative, inclusive environment that supports professional development, mentorship, technical skill-building, and continuous improvement.
  • Coordinate workload distribution, monitor project progress, and resolve barriers to ensure timely and accurate deliverables.
  • Support cross-functional projects involving data automation, dashboards, and analytics platforms to improve workflow efficiency and data accessibility.
  • Review statistical methodologies and outputs to ensure rigor, data integrity, and consistency across analyses and reporting products.
  • Lead efforts to standardize processes, documentation, and quality control measures for data collection, transformation, analysis, and visualization.
  • Ensure compliance with public health data regulations, confidentiality standards, and internal policies.
  • Review analytical summaries, reports, and presentations before dissemination to ensure accuracy, clarity, and alignment with departmental needs.
  • Collaborate with epidemiologists, program staff, IT teams, and leadership to support integrated analytical efforts and data-driven decision-making.
  • Serve as a liaison to internal and external stakeholders on matters involving data requests, analytical priorities, and project coordination.
  • Support development of strategic priorities related to data modernization, analytics infrastructure, and process enhancement.
  • Identify opportunities to improve efficiency through automation, modernization of statistical tools, and streamlined workflows.
