About The Position

Idaho Power is looking for a Stations Design Support Specialist to join their Planning, Engineering, and Construction team. This role plays a critical part in providing communities with safe, reliable, and affordable energy. The position is based in Boise, Idaho, with flexible scheduling and the opportunity to work up to 40% remote. The specialist will support Stations Engineers, Designers, and Leaders in creating accurate design packages, standards documentation, and construction specifications.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of MS Office Suite.
  • Basic understanding of electricity.
  • Familiarity with electrical drawings and schematics.
  • Knowledge of ANSI drafting standards.
  • Computer skills including Excel, Meridian, AutoCAD, Bluebeam, file management, and plotting.
  • Ability to accept responsibility and adapt readily to new situations.
  • Ability to work well and communicate with others.
  • Ability to be thorough and meet accepted deadlines.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Associate's degree in a related field or completion of a related 2-year vocational/technical training program OR an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • 2 years of experience in Stations/Utility Structural Drafting, Control Drafting, or related field.
  • Working at a desk/computer for extended periods of time.
  • Use of office equipment.
  • Fine motor skills including typing on the computer, dialing phones, filing paper.
  • Working in close proximity to other people.
  • Occasional lifts of no more than 10 lbs.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of Electrical Drafting Standards.
  • Knowledge of Stations Drafting Standards.
  • Knowledge of Meridian Document Management Systems.
  • Experience with Asset Suite (labor entry, Purchasing card, inventory).
  • Advanced AutoCAD and PDF Editing.
  • Experience with Copilot (or similar AI tools).
  • Experience with Power Automate & Nintex (or similar automation tools).
  • Experience with Advanced Microsoft tools (SharePoint, OneNote, etc.).
  • Associate’s degree in CADD technology.
  • 3 years of experience in Stations design/construction processes and procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Support Stations Engineers, Designers, and Leaders in creating accurate and complete design packages.
  • Assist in the creation of standards documentation.
  • Help develop construction specifications.
