About The Position
As a Stationary Steam Engineer at JLL, you'll be the technical backbone of critical plant operations, ensuring 24/7 system reliability and peak performance. In this hands-on role, you'll operate and maintain high-pressure boilers, industrial HVAC systems, and essential plant utilities that keep our facility running continuously. Requirements
- Valid State Stationary Steam Engineer License (non-negotiable)
- Demonstrated hands-on experience operating and maintaining high-pressure steam boilers in an industrial or commercial setting
- Working knowledge of industrial chiller systems, compressed air systems, and plant utility operations
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, equipment blueprints, and piping & instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs)
- Strong mechanical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose and resolve equipment issues quickly
- Flexibility to work rotating shifts, overtime, weekends, and holidays to support 24/7 continuous plant operations
- Physical capability to climb ladders, work in confined spaces, stand for extended periods, and work in industrial environments with exposure to heat, noise, and machinery
Nice To Haves
- Previous experience in 24/7 manufacturing, industrial plant, or critical facility operations
- Knowledge of water treatment systems, boiler chemistry, and chemical feed programs
- Familiarity with building automation systems (BAS), control systems, and SCADA platforms
- HVAC/R certification, refrigeration license, or additional trade certifications
- Experience with compressed air system optimization and energy management initiatives
Responsibilities
- Operate and monitor high-pressure steam boilers in accordance with state regulations, performing routine inspections, water treatment monitoring, and combustion efficiency optimization while ensuring full compliance with safety protocols and regulatory requirements
- Operate and maintain industrial chiller systems and HVAC equipment, monitoring refrigerant levels, temperatures, and pressures to support facility cooling requirements and maintain optimal system performance
- Manage plant utilities including compressed air systems, compressors, dryers, and valve operations throughout the facility to maintain proper flow, pressure, and efficient system operation supporting continuous production
- Monitor plant control systems and instrumentation continuously, responding promptly to alarms, equipment malfunctions, and operational irregularities by making real-time adjustments to maintain system stability and prevent downtime
- Execute scheduled preventive maintenance programs on all assigned equipment, maintain accurate maintenance logs and equipment records, and proactively identify potential issues to implement corrective actions before problems escalate
