About The Position

We are seeking experienced Stationary Engineers to support Operations & Maintenance Services at a Federal Facility in Laurel, MD. We are looking for team members who are skilled and licensed as an engineer and also enjoys learning new equipment.

Requirements

  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience within the last eight (8) years in the operation of chillers rated at least 500 tons and Boilers 125 boiler-horsepower gas-fired boilers.
  • Experience in working within an industrial, laboratory, construction, or commercial building environments.
  • First (1st) Class Engineer License or comparable license is required.
  • Licensing, certifications, and proof of training, to substantiate experience will be required as part of the application process for: Licensed Stationary Operating Engineer MD 1st or DC 3rd Class License
  • Candidates must be US Citizens and have the ability to obtain and maintain a government background investigation.

  • Capable with basic office equipment to include cell phone, tablet, telephone, fax and copy scanner.
  • Functional knowledge of Building Automation Systems and monitoring controls

Responsibilities

  • Operating and maintaining the assigned facility and all related systems/components, including the building automation system.
  • Performing tours of areas and/or equipment as directed by management and required under the contract specification.
  • Performing service calls, diagnostic services, and incidental, minor, and major repairs as required.
  • Performing preventive maintenance duties in accordance with NVE standards, building protocol, manufacturer recommendations and industry best practices. including changing filters, cleaning coils, flushing condensers, punching tubes, greasing fan, pump and motor bearings as required, inspecting and adjusting belts, replacing motor bearings, aligning pulleys and shafts, monitor condenser, chilled, heating and secondary water chemical treatment and its associated feed equipment, clean and maintain cooling towers, and perform annual inspections and other scheduled routines as directed.
  • Performing repairs to plumbing fixtures (water closets, urinals, flush valve assemblies, lavatories, etc.)
  • Performing scheduled and unscheduled maintenance and repairs of all equipment and systems outlined in the Employer's contract with the Government.
  • Performing other duties as required or directed by management.
