Job Description: The On-Site Supervisor shall be responsible for management of routine and periodic Mechanical and Electrical inspections, maintenance, and repairs of the HVAC Steam and Chilled Water Piping Systems, as well as supervision of trades Mechanics. Prepare work schedules and daily assignments to subordinates utilizing Building Maintenance Software (CMMS). Provide Quality Control monitoring and oversight for the work of subordinates and subcontractors to ensure maximum efficiency, economy, and quality of work performed. Manage the inspections, maintenance, and repairs on utility distribution systems ,primarily steam and chilled water but also minor electrical and life safety components. Maintain records and update as-build drawings. Manage repairs on HVAC, plumbing, and basic electrical systems. Maintain records and prepare required electronic reports. Train, or arrange for training of, employees in the safe performance of daily work activities and in the maintenance of utility systems. Prepare and issue RFQ’s for the Subcontractors as necessary for the acquisition of goods and services in support of project requirements. Proficiency with word processing, spreadsheets, project management software, and the ability to navigate through Parsons online corporate websites. Ability to work flexible hours as required in response to emergency situations.

Requirements

  • Have completed formal vocational/technical training in maintenance/mechanical/electrical related work.
  • Have at least three (3) years of experience within the last five (5) years in a supervisory capacity for an operation and maintenance program with HVAC, Electrical and/or General Maintenance in a single facility of comparable size and complexity.
  • Possess a valid Stationary Engineer’s license at least equivalent to a Class 3 Steam Stationary Engineer (DC) or First Grade Engineer (MD), or required to obtain within 6 months of start date.
  • Demonstrate competency in other disciplines such as HVAC, plumbing and/or electrical through a combination of education, professional registration, and experience.
  • Ability to plan, organize and meet project deadlines.
  • Ability to work on several projects simultaneously and prioritize work, as required.
  • Demonstrate working knowledge of engineering and utility systems.
  • Ability to read, review, and understand blueprints.
  • Possess minimum of OSHA 10.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • The On-Site Supervisor shall be available for emergency contact via cell phone twenty-four (24) hours a day, seven (7) days a week.
  • 8+ years of experience in field construction, plant operations, or maintenance is required.
  • The craft labor personnel perform much of their work in a confined space utility tunnels. Thus, there is a requirement for the On-Site Supervisor to pass the following tests to periodically enter the tunnels: Heat Stress, Asbestos Awareness, Lock Out/Tag Out, Respiratory Protection, and Safety Awareness.
  • Satisfactory completion of a physical fitness test is required.

  • Ability to work flexible hours as required in response to emergency situations.

Nice To Haves

  • Preferred to have USACE Quality Management for Contractors Certification (QCM), or equivalent.
